Final Fantasy XIII – Dfly Game Flipz™ – Animated Flip book

Flip book?!! That’s right! Hi-tech meets old school.

Instead of a Fan Movie, I adapted the preview trailer of Final Fantasy XIII for the Playstation 3 (first shown at E3 2005) into a Dragonfly Game Flipz™ – Animated Story Flip Book, a new, innovative book format.

Game Flipz™ is the creative fusion of game graphics, and the animated flip book, with a touch of comic book layout thrown in for good measure. Dragonfly Game Flipz™ brings static screenshot panels to life.

I’ve been working on Dragonfly Flipz™ for some time, now and would like to get feedback from you game fans. I plan to post more Game Flipz™ for other games soon. I’d also like to hear from the game creators, artists, management types, and book or magazine publishers. I love to have this books mass produced, but for now it is a Concept Demo and not for sale. If you like it, send it to friends and Square-Enix, Sony, etc.

Dragonfly Flipz™ Game Flipz™ books are a great way to collect all that great game trailer movies that are being produced, posted, viewed and downloaded. (This version of the Final Fantasy was free download) Personally, I love the feel of a book in my hands, to enjoy the great artwork in the trailers.

Also I believe the Dragonfly Flipz™ Mini-book format is a great showcase for 2D and CGI artist making narrative shorts.

So, thanks for viewing this.

    What I thinks is, ( …
What I thinks is, (and whatda I know!!)making them collectible and going accross the final fantasy series, eg from 5 on will introduce people to games possibly b4 their time and bring older scenes from older consoles bak2 life….

What about a collector’s set from ff8 of the summons, or a set from 7 of the characters in action..throw in a factfile and some quotes+you got a product!! Cool idea either way

  18. Thanks for your …
Thanks for your thoughts. I agree this flip book may appeal more to FF fans/collectors. But I’d like to see them produced, and price for the general market as a way a nice way to introduce others the rich world of FF. Sometimes collectible pricing just seems to be based on greed, not production reality.

    Thank, again.

    excellent flip book …
excellent flip book – i would reccommend marketing them as a collecters range rather than something broader than that – as their appeal is limited, unfortunately…

imagine famous sequences from all the final fantasy games, such as the flames scene in ff7 with sephiroth, or the scene with yuna and tidus at the spring in ff10…i would buy them, but i think that a limited number as part of a collecters set would make them more marketable…

    Hope that makes sense!!

  20. Thats fine, as long …
Thats fine, as long as your electronic device’s batteries don’t run out. It’s a book and some people still like books! It’s not mean to replace a media player, it’s a nice collection of screen shots presented in a creative way. Thanks for commenting, anyway.

  21. Dont release it for …
Dont release it for sale. With all those electronic devices that can easily store hundreds of high quality movies will be a far better choice for any consumer. Portable? Not unless you carry around a dozen compared to carrying a single electronice device.
