Sci fi thriller PLAGUE WAR by Jeff Carlson

Short film “4 Minutes Above 10,000 Feet.” This book trailer is like “Alive” meets “The Blair Witch Project” meets the new “Andromeda Strain.”

  1. REALLY GREAT …
REALLY GREAT TRAILER!!! Just got done with Plague Year and thought it was great. A real page burner. Read it in about a day. I read the synopsis and to be honest it sounded a bit over-done. Like trying to pick something dramatic for an easy sell. You know like how the movie guys do their oscar films (oh lets do this we will win an oscar for sure). Thought probably a bit on the boring side. Not sure why I thought this but thats what popped into my head. CONTINUED:

  2. But no biggie I was …
But no biggie I was just looking for something to fill up a little bit of my late Friday evening before bed. BOY WAS I WRONG. While the first few chapters didn’t snatch me up and actually made me think my first instinct about the book was correct. Boy did the book get going after that. Since it was Friday and I didn’t have to work this weekened I just read all night. Then went to sleep this morning. My wife was a bit annoyed with me when I got up at just after 12. :)

    Thanks, Adom! We …
Thanks, Adom! We were a three-man team who put this video together for less than $300 (on YouTube no less, hardly a major theatrical release), so, yeah, I’m still puzzled over the sneer of “amateurs” and the bazillion negative votes they’ve put on this page.

I figure we’re dealing with some single young guys with waaaay too much time on their hands and needlessly large chips on their shoulders. It’s just sad.

Thanks again. Indeed, there have been some gawd awful effects on SyFy… ;)

  4. I just don’t get …
I just don’t get the amatuer reference at all. I though the video was really well put together. The plane crash was a little less than stellar, but I’ve worse on the Sci-Fi channel…or is it the Sy-Fy channel?

    Easy, guys. Dmoney …
Easy, guys. Dmoney, it’s totally fair for him not to like the story idea. Some people don’t.

TiredDog, of course I’ve read Drexler. In fact, half a dozen real-life researchers signed off on PLAGUE YEAR and had a good time with it, too. It’s not a science paper; it’s a thriller novel & meant to be scary and fun, nothing more. Sorry if you were offended.

Wex5, I don’t understand “amateurs” as a slight? We’re on YouTube. If Ridley Scott shot this thing we’d be in theaters, right? :)
