“This Is The Place”
A short film I was in for the 48 HOUR FILM FESTIVAL
Filmed May 3, 2008
*WINNER OF THE AUDIENCE FAVORITE*

The rules are: you have 48 hours to WRITE the script, SHOOT the film, EDIT, SCORE & have a finished project! You do NOT pick your genre, it’s assigned to you! Ours was THRILLER / SUSPENSE. You also have a TIME LIMIT, CHARACTER NAMES (Janis and or Jacob), PROPS (a jewel), a line of DIALOGUE (”wait and see”), and one character had to be TEACHING/INSTRUCTING. So with all of those elements incorporated, here’s our finished film!

So for the record ~ no, i didn’t write, direct, edit, etc. I was hired to act in this!

It was SO much fun but a very draining day! Got up at 3:30 am to be to our location, got the script, started planning how we’d do it all & the filming finished by about 6 pm. HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL INVOLVED ON THIS FILM!!!!

And yes, my name IS misspelled on the credits!

hello!! i really …
hello!! i really enjoyed this video, it’s awesome! But i can’t decide myself on the meaning of the end. I have two theories:
either the two characters are working on a thriller movie and the woman is recording the scene of the crime at the end.
Or the two characters are total psychos and the woman is recording the murder because Jacob and she both enjoy it.

Very well done! Great story all done in less than 7 minutes. Very nice twist.
I sort of had the feeling that it was either he or the girl that was involved in the murder (which hasn’t happened yet as we finally find out)
He had that “killer”look when he was holding the pan.

Very excellent …
Very excellent movie, everything is well done and I do like the plot and the acting as well. the only thing I can comment on is the excessive use of the soft/diffuser effect, it kinda ruined the sharp thoughts and the thrill those characters were presenting.
