6. Grieg In the Hall of the Mountain King
Mood: Sneaking Around and Stalking

This well-known piece has seen extensive use in movies and commercials, usually in accordance with an ominous event. In the Hall of the Mountain King was famously used in the 1931 film M, in which Peter Lorre’s character whistles it. The song also appears during the teaser trailer of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Funny Games, Bride Wars and Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian. It is also played over the end credits of the Woody Allen film Scoop.
9. THE MIRACULOUS MANDARIN by Bela Bartok, perhaps one of the most truly terrifying works in the classical repertoire. With shrieking strings, extended trombone glissandi and a chilling wordless chorus.
10. ‘Mars, the Bringer of War’ from THE PLANETS by Gustav Holst
11. FESTE ROMANE (Roman Festivals) by Ottorino Respighi
12. Gnomus by Mussorgsky from Pictures at an Exhibition

A short film I was in for the 48 HOUR FILM FESTIVAL
Filmed May 3, 2008
*WINNER OF THE AUDIENCE FAVORITE*

The rules are: you have 48 hours to WRITE the script, SHOOT the film, EDIT, SCORE & have a finished project! You do NOT pick your genre, it’s assigned to you! Ours was THRILLER / SUSPENSE. You also have a TIME LIMIT, CHARACTER NAMES (Janis and or Jacob), PROPS (a jewel), a line of DIALOGUE (”wait and see”), and one character had to be TEACHING/INSTRUCTING. So with all of those elements incorporated, here’s our finished film!

So for the record ~ no, i didn’t write, direct, edit, etc. I was hired to act in this!

It was SO much fun but a very draining day! Got up at 3:30 am to be to our location, got the script, started planning how we’d do it all & the filming finished by about 6 pm. HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL INVOLVED ON THIS FILM!!!!

And yes, my name IS misspelled on the credits!
It’s supposed to be Manzanares

*FINAL* audio mix / music by Dave Evanoff ~ want to hire him? check the last link on the sites listed under the autoplay vid!
